Overcoming Barriers

A Comprehensive Reentry & Workforce Development System

iCEV’s reentry program supports successful transitions through two core components: Overcoming Barriers and Employment Preparation. Participants build strategies to navigate personal, financial, and employment challenges while gaining career-focused training.

Three-Step Pathway:

  1. Complete the Career Cluster Interest Inventory (CCII) to identify career interests.

  2. Select a field of study and/or industry certification aligned to career goals.

  3. Follow a structured, flexible schedule tailored to facility needs.

The Gap Pack: Workplace Readiness

Mastering Essential Soft Skills for Employment Success

The Gap Pack equips justice involved individuals with the critical soft skills employers demand. Through targeted instruction and career pathway alignment using the CCII, participants strengthen competencies in:

  • Communication – Writing, coordination, verbal & interpersonal skills
  • Working with Others – Leadership, teamwork, customer service, planning
  • Professionalism – Accountability, time management, ethics
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Critical thinking, adaptability, resilience
  • Digital Literacy – Technical skills, cybersecurity, media literacy

By mastering these skills, participants enhance their employability, setting the foundation for long-term career success.

The iCEV Peer Tutoring Certificate

Empowering Peer Support for Academic Success

Justice Involved educators increasingly rely on peer tutors to enhance learning, improve academic performance, and reduce recidivism. iCEV’s 80-lesson Peer Tutoring Certificate aligns with industry standards, equipping participants with essential skills to support and mentor others effectively.

This certificate:

  • Builds credibility, demonstrating expertise in peer-led learning, communication, and leadership
  • Benefits those in education, community outreach, and professional settings where peer tutoring is essential

The program can be customized to include state-specific content, such as interpreting TABE Score Reports and understanding institutional policies and procedures.
