Medical Coding & Billing

This course introduces students to the procedures, terminology, and medical codes used in the field. Students will also learn about the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and develop the necessary skills to maintain accurate records. Understanding the entire revenue cycle and its efficient management will be a focus of the course. Principles of Health Science

Health Science Theory

This course is designed to provide foundational knowledge of common skills and procedures utilized in careers in the healthcare field. Students will employ hands-on experiences for continued knowledge and skill development. To better understand health science theory and the healthcare industry, students will learn about safety procedures, medical records, proper terminology, the importance of the healthcare system and much more.


Medical Terminology

This course is designed to introduce students to the structure of medical terms, including prefixes, suffixes, word roots, singular and plural forms and medical abbreviations. The course allows students to achieve comprehension of medical vocabulary appropriate to medical procedures, human anatomy and physiology and pathophysiology in order to prepare students for the medical profession.
