Teachers: Resetting Student Passwords Using a One-Time Passcode

To reset a student password - the student must be registered in your course. If the student isn’t registered in your course, please contact Customer Support.

Step-by-Step Tutorial

1. Accessing Roster Management

  • Log in to your iCEV account.

  • From your dashboard, locate your course list.

There are two ways to access student rosters:

  • Option A: Click Roster Management below your course list to view all students.

  • Option B: Open a specific course and select Manage Roster.

Reset from a Single Course

2. View Student Rosters

  • In the Roster Management page from your My Courses page, you’ll see all your courses and the students enrolled in each.

  • When accessed directly from a specific course, you will only see the students enrolled for that course.

3. Locate the Student

  • Find the student who needs a password reset.

  • Under their account information, click Generate one-time passcode.

4. Generate and Share the Passcode

  • A pop-up window will display a one-time passcode.

  • Share this passcode directly with the student.

  • Important:

    • The code expires in 30 minutes.

    • If it expires, you must generate a new one.

    • The passcode that is generated is for the specific student only and should not be used by another student.

5. Student Password Reset

  • The student should go to the iCEV login page.

  • There they should click Forgot Password.

6. Use the One-Time Code Option

On the reset page, the student should select the Use a one-time code instead option.

7. Enter Login Details

  • The student should enter:

    • Their username

    • The one-time passcode you provided

  • Click Submit.

8. Create a New Password

  • The student should enter and confirm a new password.

  • Password requirements:

    • Must be 12–64 characters long

  • Submit to finish the password reset.

Once completed, the student can log in using their new password.
