Griffin-Spalding County Schools gives students more than a diploma; it gives them direction. The district's Career, Technical & Agricultural Education (CTAE) program bridges the gap between high school and postsecondary plans by equipping students with the academic, employability, and technical skills needed for college, careers, and high-demand industries.

With more than 20 career pathways available across middle and high school, students can earn industry credentials and build real-world readiness at every stage. Through a partnership with Southern Crescent Technical College, the Griffin Regional College & Career Academy (GRCCA) allows students to earn college credit, complete technical certificates, and gain 21st-century skills — all while still in high school. As one of only two regional career academies in the area, the GRCCA draws students from surrounding counties and offers programs no single campus could sustain on its own.

What sets Griffin-Spalding apart is the depth of opportunity available. The district is the only county in Georgia to offer aviation flight, aviation maintenance, and drone programs under one roof, with a Delta Air Lines partnership that brings industry professionals into the classroom and students onto the floor at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Beyond aviation, students explore cloud computing through Amazon, pursue entrepreneurship with support from a local scholarship fund, and participate in hands-on STEM experiences starting in middle school.

For students like Walker, work-based learning opportunities meant balancing two jobs alongside a full course load and discovering a sense of purpose he hadn't expected. Through his placement at the GSCS central office and his involvement in the district's Special Olympics program, Walker found a passion for helping others that now drives his goal of pursuing a career in law. 

From middle school exploration to dual enrollment coursework, Griffin-Spalding CTAE meets students where they are and prepares them for wherever they're going.
