LMS (LTI) Certification Guide
This guide outlines the steps for helping students get certified when using an LMS (LTI) integration with iCEV.
Key Considerations
- Certification Lesson Importing: While certification lessons can be imported into LMS platforms, the Pre-Test and Final Certification Exam cannot be imported. These assessments must be accessed directly through iCEV.
- LTI Activation vs. Usage: An organization may have LTI integration enabled, but not all educators may be actively using it. To verify LTI usage, refer to the Account Login Types section in UMS.
- Username Management: LTI-generated usernames cannot be edited by teachers. For adjustments, please contact internal support.
- Grade Passback Limitations: Any coursework completed directly within the iCEV platform will not be passed back to the student's Learning Management System. Teachers should plan accordingly when tracking student progress and grades.
Updated Certification Process for LTI Students
Students with LTI-linked accounts no longer need to manually create iCEV accounts to access certification exams. Their accounts are automatically generated through the LMS integration.
