iCEV to Host Home Builders Association of Alabama Residential Construction Skills Certification 

Home Builders Association of Alabama Residential Construction Skills Certification verifies knowledge of residential construction principles and skills.
LUBBOCK, Texas (October 20, 2019)

 The Home Builders Association of Alabama (HBAA) Residential Construction Skills Certification will be available on the iCEV testing platform in fall 2020. The certification will assess the knowledge and skills necessary to be a productive worker on a residential construction job site. The certification is based on the following industry standards developed by the HBAA:

  • Building Components
  • Building Trades 
  • Safety & Health 

Those who earn the HBAA Residential Construction Skills Certification are more qualified and prepared to enter high-demand roles within the construction industry. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 91 percent of construction managers and contractors report difficulty finding well-trained employees.

“The Home Builders Association of Alabama is proud to offer the Residential Construction Skills Certification. We believe this certification will be a valuable tool to construction workers and employers,” said Kory L. Boling, Foundation Executive Director of Home Builders Association of Alabama.

The certification will be available to HBAA members for continuing education opportunities and will also be offered at participating Career and Technical Education and trade programs. In addition to hosting the industry certification, iCEV will offer supplemental study materials designed to prepare individuals to successfully earn the HBAA Residential Construction Skills Certification.
