Ducks Unlimited Chooses iCEV as Testing Platform for New Certification

Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation and Management Certification will validate knowledge and skills related to ecology principles and wildlife management.

LUBBOCK, Texas and MEMPHIS, Tenn. (May 16, 2018) – Responsible land and water use, along with conservation methods, are important for the future of natural resources. To help the next generation understand ecology issues and gain experience in the field that helps lead to a meaningful career, Ducks Unlimited has developed the Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation and Management Certification.

Created by the world's leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation and delivered through iCEV, the certification exam addresses 12 key areas of wildlife ecology:

  • North American Model of Wildlife Conservation

  • Wildlife Population Ecology

  • Wildlife ID Series

“Today’s students will go on to craft and enact the policies that protect our natural resources,” said Mark Horobetz, Ducks Unlimited manager of youth and education programs. “It’s important that students understand not only the conservation and ecology of wildlife and wildlife habitat but also their personal roles as future stewards. That’s why this certification is important to Ducks Unlimited.”

The Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation and Management certification is the latest to utilize iCEV as its testing platform.  Other certifying bodies include Express Employment Professionals, American Meat Science Association, Elanco, Bayer CropScience, Benz School of Floral Design, National Collegiate Livestock Coaches Association, Equipment & Engine Training Council and Southwest Airlines.

“Earning the Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation & Management Certification will give individuals the competencies and confidence they need in order to pursue careers in wildlife ecology,” said iCEV Vice President of Brand Management Clayton Franklin. “With the backing of a respected organization such as Ducks Unlimited, this certification will be valuable for students as well as working professionals.”

The certification will be available in fall 2019.
