What are your key CTE responsibilities in your current job role?
My key CTE responsibilities include delivering rigorous agricultural education instruction, advising the FFA chapter and supervising student SAE projects. I also manage program compliance, maintain industry-aligned curriculum and equipment and coordinate partnerships that support student certifications and career development.
In addition to classroom and program duties, I take on professional responsibilities such as mentoring new teachers, contributing to state-level CTE leadership and supporting continuous improvement across our CTE program.
Why do you feel CTE is important to the future of education?
Career and Technical Education is essential to the future of education because it equips students with real-world skills, industry credentials and hands-on experiences that prepare them for high-demand careers. CTE connects academic learning to practical application, helping students see purpose in their education while strengthening confidence, problem-solving abilities and workforce readiness.
As industry needs evolve, CTE ensures that schools stay aligned with workforce expectations by preparing students for adaptable, meaningful careers that support both local communities and the broader economy.
What is the biggest benefit students can receive from enrolling in CTE programs/course?
The biggest benefit students gain from enrolling in CTE programs is real-world, career-ready experience that links classroom learning to actual jobs and future opportunities. Through hands-on activities, industry certifications and exposure to high-demand career pathways, students build practical skills, confidence and a clear direction for life after high school, whether they pursue college, technical training or the workforce.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy spending quality time with my family and living on our beef cattle farm. I am also a certified beekeeper, which allows me to combine my love for agriculture with a unique and rewarding hobby.
