Summary

iCEV is an online platform for delivering Career and Technical Education curriculum.  iCEV utilizes teacher licenses to access course content.  Also, student licenses are available which allow students to log in to the system, view content, complete interactive activities, quizzes and assessments, as well as complete industry certification programs.

Browser Requirements

The following browsers have been tested and are compatible with iCEV:

  • Microsoft Edge (latest version)
  • Google Chrome (latest version)
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest version
  • Apple Safari (Mac/IOS)

Many other browsers may be compatible with iCEV, but have not been 100% tested. If you have a browser at your district that is not on this list you would like us to test, Contact Us.

Operating System Requirements

iCEV is compatible with most devices that connect to the internet and can open a web browser, providing that they have the following operating systems:

  • Windows 8 or newer
  • Mac OS X 10.5 or newer
  • Android (latest version)
  • IOS (latest version

However, some curriculum content requires students to use external software, such as Microsoft Office and not all devices can download that software.

If your course includes any lessons that require Microsoft Office, student devices may not be fully compatible to complete the assignments.

Review the chart below to see the compatibility of the device your students are using in relation to lessons that require Microsoft Office:

Chromebooks

Compatible, excluding lessons that require MS Office

Windows Desktops & Laptops

Compatible for all curriculum

Apple Desktops & Laptops

Compatible, excluding lessons that require MS Office

iPads & Tablets

Compatible, excluding lessons that require MS Office

Smartphones (students only)

Compatible, excluding lessons that require MS Office

Bandwidth Requirements

For optimal performance, we generally see 50k-150k per simultaneous user (while streaming video) as a good base measurement for bandwidth needed.  If the students are not streaming and simply logging in for assessments and activities, this number decreases drastically.
