teaching your students.  **Background:** Born just outside of Reading, PA, Mike grew up in a family full of medical workers, and has been immersed in health science jargon since childhood. As a lifelong learner, writer, and editor, he went to college at Penn State, where he earned his bachelor’s before being accepted into the [BA/MA creative writing program](https://english.la.psu.edu/graduate-creative-writing/) and going on for his master’s. Mike has worked as a rhetoric instructor, a copyeditor, a copywriter, and has earned an award or two for his short stories.
