The World Needs CTE Teachers: 5 Ways to Share the Message This CTE Month
Josh Witherspoon, a CTE marketing specialist, is a former Texas FFA state officer and Texas Tech graduate in agricultural communications. He leverages his expertise in content development, marketing, and CTE to showcase the successes of CTE educators and students and the value of iCEV.
Every February, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month celebrates the programs transforming classrooms and communities across the country.
But behind every successful CTE program are teachers.
CTE teachers prepare students for more than graduation. They prepare them for certifications, help them discover and pursue their passions, and build the confidence to step into their chosen careers or postsecondary pathways. They equip future welders, nurses, engineers, chefs, agriculturists, and innovators with real-world skills that strengthen local economies and help close critical workforce gaps.
This CTE Month, we’re highlighting that impact through our video “The World Needs CTE Teachers.”
If you're looking for ways to celebrate CTE Month in your district, we encourage you to share our video and help amplify the message. Here are five ways to get started:
- Open conversations, meetings, and events with the video
- Share one unified message on social media
- Put it in front of parents and community partners
- Use it to strengthen enrollment and recruitment efforts
- Publicly recognize your CTE teachers
1. Create a Conversation with the Video
Instead of simply posting the video, anchor it to a bigger discussion.
Share it:
- In conversation with your team members
- At a school board meeting
- During a district leadership update
- At an advisory committee meeting with industry partners
Position it as a reminder that CTE is not an “extra.” It’s an economic development strategy and a student success strategy.
2. Share it on Social Media
Share the message across the platforms that your community already follows. Whether you use the district social channels or CTE-specific pages, or both, keep the message focused and unified. For example:
“This CTE Month, we’re celebrating the educators preparing career-ready, workforce-ready students across [District Name]. #TheWorldNeedsCTE”
To amplify the reach, be sure to tag:
- Your district
- Your CTE program
- Individual CTE teachers
- Local industry partners
Encourage your teachers and staff to comment, like, and share the post to extend visibility.
If you would like to share a state-specific version of the video, reach out to us here, and we’ll be happy to provide it.
3. Share It With Parents and Community Partners
Many parents still think of CTE through an outdated lens. This is your chance to reshape that perception.
Include the video in:
- District newsletters
- Email updates
- Chamber or industry partner communications
Frame it around opportunity: certifications, employability skills, and real-world preparation.
When the community understands modern CTE, support grows.
4. Use It in Recruitment and Enrollment Efforts
CTE Month often aligns with course selection and program planning.
Embed the video:
- On your CTE landing page
- In your middle school recruitment presentations
- At open house events
It sets the emotional tone before you share program details and outcomes.
5. Celebrate Your Teachers Publicly
Tag and recognize individual CTE teachers when you share the video.
A simple caption like:
“Thank you to the CTE teachers, like [Name], who prepare students for something bigger every single day.”
Recognition fuels morale, and morale fuels retention.
Why This Matters
Workforce gaps are real. Industry needs are growing. Communities depend on skilled talent. CTE teachers sit at the center of that solution.
This CTE Month, let’s make sure the educators preparing the future workforce feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Because The World Needs CTE Teachers.
