Home Builders Association of Alabama Residential Construction Skills Certification verifies knowledge of residential construction principles and skills
LUBBOCK, Texas (October 27, 2020) – The Home Builders Association of Alabama (HBAA) Residential Construction Skills Certification is now available on the iCEV industry certification testing platform. The certification assesses the knowledge and skills necessary to be a productive worker on a residential construction job site. The certification is based on the following industry standards developed by the HBAA:
HBAA Residential Construction Skills Certification earners are more qualified and prepared to enter high-demand roles within the construction industry. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of construction laborers and helpers is projected to grow 5 percent from 2019 to 2029, faster than the average for all occupations. The entire construction and extraction industry is projected to gain 296,300 new positions between 2019 and 2029.
“We believe the HBAA Residential Construction Skills Certification will help individuals of all ages and skill levels find meaningful opportunities and will aid in the recruitment of skilled workers, thus helping to alleviate the shortage in the industry,” said Russell Davis, HBAA Executive Vice President.
iCEV is excited to host the HBAA Residential Construction Skills Certification and provide professional development opportunities for individuals interested in the construction industry. To earn the certification, candidates must pass a 100-question exam. iCEV offers optional study materials designed to prepare individuals to earn the HBAA Residential Construction Skills Certification.
“We are excited about the partnership with the Home Builders Association of Alabama,” said Clayton Franklin, iCEV Executive Vice President. “The Residential Construction Skills Certification allows individuals to verify their knowledge and skills of construction principles and practices while allowing employers to identify well-trained applicants."
