LUBBOCK, Texas (Dec. 7, 2016) – To better reflect new educational standards in Texas and offer students comprehensive training resources in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, CEV Multimedia announced today the Texas State Board of Education has approved the iCEV online learning platform for 87 CTE courses. With the approval by the State Board of Education, materials will be available and implemented in classrooms at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.

As part of the Proclamation 2017 – Instructional Materials Review and Adoption, school districts in Texas can now choose to integrate any of the approved 87 iCEV courses into their curriculum. Proclamation 2017 focuses on adopting instructional materials for all CTE subject areas to coincide with the implementation of the new Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for CTE courses.

"The approval of our materials is not just an exciting moment for us, but also for students and teachers throughout Texas as they will receive increased exposure to CTE learning materials," said Dusty Moore, iCEV president. "As we approach the new year, we look forward to working with educators in communities across Texas to integrate our CTE courses into their classrooms to help prepare students to meet the needs of an ever-changing workforce."

Texas school districts which adopt iCEV materials will receive pre-packaged, TEKS-aligned courses and learning materials, an automatic testing and grading system, and interactive lessons that will help guide students through their chosen field of study and future career paths.

The approved 87 courses cover a variety of fields, including health science, architecture, construction, transportation, manufacturing, career exploration, agricultural science, law, public safety, corrections, business, marketing, finance, information technology, media and family and consumer sciences. Additionally, students will also have the opportunity to earn industry certifications hosted on the iCEV testing platform that correlated to the approved courses to enhance their career training in topics like food safety and science, business office technology, plant science, floral design, professional communications, veterinary medical applications and more.
