Dr. Temple Grandin, animal science professor at Colorado State University, brings a unique perspective and background to CTE Inspired. Dr. Grandin has used her visual learning abilities to guide her career. During CTE Inspired, she will share strategies and insights to help CTE professionals meet the needs of special population students.
Dr. Grandin is a prominent author and spokesperson for autism and animal behavior. Her life’s work has been dedicated to understanding the human mind and ensuring animals are treated humanely. While the two may not seem to go hand in hand, her understanding of her mind has contributed to her understanding of animal behavior. Within the agricultural community, she is well-known and respected for designing livestock handling facilities. Today, half of the cattle in the United States are handled in facilities she has designed.
Dr. Grandin is the subject of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning film, Temple Grandin. She is the author of multiple New York Times bestsellers, and in 2010, she was identified as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.
